Valley Against Sex Trafficking (VAST) is creating a path toward restoration for at-risk and exploited women.

Thousands of women in the U.S. are victims of human trafficking each year. Many remain unseen and unnoticed, or are misidentified as prostitutes.

VAST empowers survivors and encourages the community to take action against trafficking. We provide trauma-informed care, education and mentorship,connections to aftercare services,and prevention through outreach.

Do you know what a survivor-informed practice looks like? It means we develop each program with input from survivors so that programs are effective and freedom lasts. Our approach is survivor-centered and trauma-informed, and impacts every aspect of our work.

We provide therapeutic support opportunities that reduce stress levels, increase self-regulation, and strengthen life skills. This is key for survivors to gain resiliency and independence as they continue their healing journey.

The Zen Den at the VAST Drop-in Center

We offer a daily connecting point for survivors to relax, grab a coffee, take a shower, and access resources as they take their own next steps.

WINGS

We host a weekly survivor-led group called WINGS. It’s a safe space for survivors to connect, feel understood, and process difficult experiences together.

Annual Survivor Retreat

Survivors find a sense of sisterhood at this annual event. Through yoga, art therapy, music, and campfires, survivors experience what healthy relationships look like and begin to envision new futures.

Subject Line: Together We’ve Impacted Over 635 Women in Need

We believe community collaboration is vital to reducing the risks of human trafficking. Since 2011, VAST has been engaging in advocacy work and formed one of the first anti-trafficking coalitions in Pennsylvania.

‍VAST educates the community on sex trafficking, identification, and response. We conduct street outreach to engage with victims of trafficking or those at risk, building relationships of safety and trust.

The VAST Drop-in Center provides women with connections to vital resources so they can take steps toward empowerment. These resources include weekly support groups, education assistance, housing, ID recovery, and more. We’re meeting their needs through key partnerships with 40+ service agencies so survivors can experience safety, rest, and healing.

We’re grateful that through dedicated community members, volunteers, and staff, we’ve together impacted over 635 women in need!
